After my sightseeing tour in Dresden, I was about to jump into the next big European city: Prague. Originally, I wanted to cross the German-Czech border by bike. But I didn’t know if this would be possible in Corona times. Therefore, I decided to take the train. Loading the bike with luggage was unfortunately not as easy as before in the regional trains. But on the trip, I was compensated with well functioning free Wi-Fi and a breathtaking view.
Besides the big story of the #MahinaJourney, there are many small stories along the way. For example, my growing collection of photos of different European cycle paths. If you look at these pictures, it becomes clear that mobility has so far only been meant for cars.
Yes, I am carrying a lot of luggage on my bike… but I need every single piece! I swear!

As you can see below, I tried to plan my tour as detailed as possible. And then it turned out that geographic knowledge and flexibility are a much better combination than the best plan.
Could there be a better starting point for #MahinaJourney than the Eastside Gallery in Berlin? The fall and demolition of the Berlin Wall might be the most important action of re-unification and freedom in our lifetime.
When picking up my E-Bike in Berlin, I learned a lot about bikes and biking – and filmed everything for you. Have a look at our first #MahinaJourney video on our YouTube channel [+ leave a like and subscribe! 😉 ]
For the first three nights of my #MahinaJourney, I don’t even know where I will sleep. So I thought it would be nice to prepare a bit for the first border crossing. Made me end up buying a train ticket from Dresden to Prague… for me. Because for my bike, there is no online ticket option at the Deutsche Bahn website.
